Smurfs Information

The Smurfs started as a series a comic strips created by a Belgian cartoonist in the late 1950’s. Three decades later in 1981 Hanna-Barbera brought The Smurfs to life in North America when they released The Smurfs animated series on NBC. The Smurfs which ran on Saturday-mornings was smash hit and aired from 1981 through 1990. and saw many spin-offs including yearly specials, Smurfs On Ice and the very popular Smurf collectible figurines.
